1. Tell us a little about yourself and what brought you to CERN?
I am a physics PhD student at the University of Liverpool but based at CERN full-time. During my master’s I had the opportunity to present my work at a conference at CERN after which one of the organisers reached out to me and suggested I apply to the CERN Doctoral Student Programme. Even though I did not believe I would be chosen, here I am!
Tell us a little about yourself and what do you do at CERN today?
Tell us a little about yourself and what brought you to CERN?
My name is Giorgia, and I’m from Italy — specifically from a small town in the south of Sardinia. After high school, I decided to leave my homeland, which was starting to feel a bit limiting, to follow my passion for the fascinating world of physics. My first stop was Trieste, an international city that gave me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world.

My name is Coral Izquierdo Muñiz, I'm 22 years old and I'm from Asturias, Spain. I'm currently finishing my Computer Science - Software Engineering degree at the University of Oviedo researching generative AI on edge devices for my Bachelor’s thesis.
Tell us a little about yourself and what brought you to CERN?
My name is Lorenzo Bistoni, I’m 23 years old, and I’m a mechanical engineering student with a management curriculum. I’ve always lived with my family, my volleyball team, and my hobbies in Perugia, a small and beautiful town in the green heart of Italy.
Could you tell us a bit about yourself and what motivated you to come to CERN?
My name is Jiří Jalůvka, I’m 25 years old, and I’m currently studying space engineering. Ever since I started university, I’ve always been most passionate about courses that were deeply rooted in Physics. I was never satisfied just plugging numbers into formulas, I always wanted to understand the principles behind them. I liked to dig deeper and really get to the bottom of things.
Tell us a little about yourself and what brought you to CERN?
My name is Josh and I'm from Manchester in the United Kingdom. I moved to Oxford to pursue an engineering apprenticeship, and after completing it, an opportunity came up at CERN through the ORIGIN Programme for recent graduates. I applied, and now here I am!
Tell us a little about yourself and what brought you to CERN?
I am an undergraduate in Computer Science and Machine Learning at the University of Bath, UK. I applied to CERN because its mission and values strongly align with my own (international, social, environmental, open science). Additionally, the opportunity to work at the forefront of technology and science was one I didn’t want to miss.
