What you'll do
You will work on the qualification and characterisation of High Temperature Superconductor (HTS) tapes and cables that will be used for the High-Luminosity Upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) as well as for the development and fabrication of high-field magnets. We are looking for you who is curious and eager to learn. We will teach you everything you need to know about cryogenics and superconductivity, about building magnets and high current transfer lines.
Your responsibilities
- Perform reel-to-reel indirect critical current measurements.
- Conduct direct critical current and contact resistance measurements.
- Analyse and present experimental test results.
- Install the instrumentation in superconducting magnets.
- Participate in the assembly and testing in the 100 kA class power transmission systems of the HL-LHC.
- Verify and validate the instrumentation integrated into these systems.

- Experience in electrical testing or material testing.
- Experience in material testing would be an asset.
- Your studies focused on Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

- Knowledge in instrumentation and data acquisition.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams.

- Reliable and autonomous.
- Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language
