What you'll do
As an electromechanical technician, you will assemble and test cryostats and associated equipment for superconducting accelerator systems (such as magnets and power transfer lines), contributing to their production, installation and maintenance, including hands-on interventions on CERN accelerators, such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
Your responsibilities
- Assemble cryostats and electromechanical equipment for accelerator systems, such as superconducting magnets, related electric transfer lines and feedthroughs for cryogenic applications.
- Perform interventions in the LHC tunnel for installation, maintenance or dismantling of cryoassemblies, during shutdowns or maintenance periods.
- Manufacture and modify parts using conventional machining (milling, turning) and forming.
- Handle logistics of components and stock for assigned assemblies, launching and following up manufacturing requests and purchase orders and performing acceptance tests.
- Prepare production documentation, in particular quality control documents.
