Targets Stations Mechanical Engineer

What you'll do

In this role you will play a critical role in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of beam-intercepting devices essential to our accelerator complex. As a dedicated and skilled production engineer, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop, assemble, install, and maintain these precision mechanical systems in challenging environments. Your responsibilities will cover three target stations and two collimators that protect the magnets, along with their associated operational spare parts.

Coordinating the production, assembly, and validation of equipment.
Participating in commissioning activities before installation.
Oversee procuring components, writing technical specifications.
Following up on contractors' work to ensure quality and compliance with CERN standards.

Your profile

Background in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with manufacturing processes.

Assembling, and testing precision mechanics.

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State.
By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field and your highest educational qualification is either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. You must have a university degree and can’t hold a PhD.
You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
