What you'll do

You will play a key role in building meaningful relationships with CERN’s current and prospective donors throughout the entire donor cycle, while managing formal obligations such as proposal preparation and reporting. In doing so, you will help generate financial and strategic support for CERN by identifying funding opportunities, securing donations and grants, and building partnerships with corporations and foundations.

Your responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of fundraising strategies for CERN fundraising projects.
  • Identification, qualification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors, including planning and conducting of donor meetings, events, and experiences.
  • Research and pursue of funding opportunities with foundations, including writing proposals and reports.
  • Track, analyse, and report on fundraising performance and partnership impact.

Your profile

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grants management, donor reporting and stewardship within a non-profit charitable context.
  • Proven ability to meet financial targets and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience contributing to initiatives aligned with organisational mission and values, delivering measurable impact.
  • Experience in fundraising for Science and Education or a related field is an asset.

  • Fundraising; in particular in science and education fields in a international set up.
  • Stakeholder relationship management.
  • Event organisation and management.
  • Use of a fundraising CRM; and Office Software Packages.

  • Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.

  • You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State. Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot and Croatian nationals, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
  • You have relevant qualifications and professional experience.
  • If you have previously held a Staff contract at CERN, you will not be eligible for these positions.
