What you'll do
Are you enthusiastic about science education and excited to help teachers bring particle physics and hands-on science into the classroom?
Do you enjoy creating learning experiences, supporting educators, and working in an international environment?
Join the CERN Education team!
CERN has an opening for a Project Graduate in the Education section in the Education, Communications and Outreach (ECO) group in the Stakeholders Relations (SR) sector. The Education section runs a broad portfolio of programmes for teachers and school students and conducts Physics Education Research to support evidence-informed programme design and evaluation.
This graduate position focuses on a project to broaden access to CERN’s teacher education programmes and resources. This project responds to the strategic need to scale the reach, accessibility, and sustainability of CERN’s teacher programmes by redesigning delivery formats and educational resources to engage new audiences, including educators unable to participate onsite and teachers at earlier educational levels such as primary education.
You will work closely with and under the guidance of the Teacher Programmes Manager to support the development and delivery of CERN’s teacher programmes.
Your responsibilities
- Expand programme reach to new educator audiences, including primary school educators, by designing, piloting, and evaluating scalable training models across online, hybrid, and onsite formats.
- Explore alignment between CERN-related content and school curricula, and develop, pilot, and evaluate modular, classroom-ready teaching materials to extend programme impact beyond live delivery.
- Coordinate communication and project logistics with participating teachers, programme contributors, and relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate selected sessions during teacher programmes, such as workshops, guided visits or discussion activities.
- Collaborate closely with the Teacher Programmes Manager and the wider Education, Communications and Outreach teams to support the ongoing development and future direction of teacher education activities.
- Provide support for special events and outreach activities involving teachers and schools in the local area and further afield.
