What you'll do
Are you keen to work in one of the world’s largest scientific organisations? CERN has an opening for an Early Career Graduate as a digital editor within the Media and Digital Communications section (PRD) in the Education, Communication and Outreach (ECO) group of the Stakeholder Relations (SR) sector. In the SR-ECO-PRD, the digital editor works within the digital communications team with the social media team, alongside the web team and press office.
Your responsibilities
- Assess and improve home.cern content through web page redesigns, improved taxonomy terms and functionality as well as updating and creating content, liaising with content contributors and technical contacts.
- Update the Stakeholder Relations website and create dedicated SR websites as needed, including a website for the 2027 Open Days.
- Advise content creators across the CERN community of best practices, guidance and in-house styling for online content.
- Provide web statistics reports, dashboards and analysis to inform improvements to online content.
- Participate in web team meetings, sprints and tests to improve online content, functionality and how it has promoted and consumed.
- Support the social media team as needed, in particular editing content for clarity.
- Share resources and interact with other communication teams in the Media and Digital Communications section and the ECO group.

- Experience of web editing using Wordpress.

- Your studies focused on STEM or Social Sciences.
Your skills
- Interest in science and technology. A STEM background would be an advantage, but it is not a requirement.
- Experience of web editing, particularly using content management systems.
- Organisational and planning skills, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to solve problems.
- Excellent ability to communicate with diplomacy.
- Desire and ability to work in a team within a large international organisation.
- Proficient in English (ideally C2); knowledge of French is an advantage but is not essential.

- You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State. Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field and your highest educational qualification is either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. You must have a university degree and can’t hold a PhD.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
