What you'll do
You will contribute to the delivery of civil engineering projects within CERN’s Site Asset Management group, supporting both surface and underground infrastructure. You will be involved in the implementation of design specifications on site and contribute to the coordination, monitoring and continuous improvement of works across roads, networks, buildings and technical galleries, in a world-class, multicultural environment.
Your responsibilities
- Contribute to the management of work requests in the fields of civil engineering, roads, networks and buildings (concrete/metal structures, building envelope) for surface buildings, underground structures and technical galleries.
- Coordinate and follow up construction and renovation works in close cooperation with internal customers and contractors, including coordination of various technical and secondary trades.
- Monitor safety rules enforcement, quality of contractors' work, and execution of works in line with best practices and technical specifications.
- Contribute to budget follow-up and project coordination, including checking of quotes, follow-up of orders and validation of final measurements established by contractors, and use of CERN's computer tools.

- Initial experience or academic background in building or underground structure construction, maintenance or renovation.
- First exposure to planning, organising and coordinating various trades.
- Knowledge of site measurements and cost control.
- Understanding of quality standards and site safety control.
- Your studies focused on Civil Engineering.

- You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State. Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field and your highest educational qualification is either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. You must have a university degree and can’t hold a PhD.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
