What you'll do
You will contribute to defining the robotics and automation strategy for the Future Circular Collider (FCC) accelerator facility. Your work will begin with identifying key robotic equipment across all FCC areas — beyond the tunnel — and compiling a comprehensive overview of equipment and technical requirements. You will then analyse the optimal level of automation from both economic and technical perspectives, considering state-of-the-art robotics technologies and aligning with FCC’s availability and operational objectives. Covering the entire lifecycle of the facility — from construction and installation to operation and dismantling — your goal will be to determine the most efficient and cost-effective automation approach to support FCC’s long-term success.
Your responsibilities
- Identify key robotic equipment across the entire FCC accelerator facility, expanding beyond the tunnel area.
- Compile a comprehensive list of equipment and requirements for all facility sections.
- Analyze the optimal level of automation from an economic and technical perspective.
- Consider state-of-the-art robotics technologies aligned with FCC’s availability and operational goals.
- Assess automation across the full FCC life cycle — from construction and installation to operation and dismantling.
- Define the most efficient and cost-effective automation strategy to support the facility’s long-term success.
