What you'll do
Join CERN’s Electrical Engineering group in a role suited to an early career electrical engineer seeking hands on experience with High Voltage and Low Voltage power systems, including testing, validation and commissioning. You will contribute to the deployment of electrical installations across CERN while developing your expertise in a world class technical environment.
Your responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to commissioning activities for HV and LV switchgears, transformers, circuit breakers, UPS systems, 48 V DC systems and protection relays.
- Prepare commissioning procedures, test plans and risk assessments.
- Perform advanced commissioning tests, including protection relay secondary injection, logic validation, SCADA communication and interlocking functionality.
- Identify and resolve issues during commissioning and define corrective actions.
- Coordinate activities with project teams, operations teams and external suppliers.
- Produce clear commissioning reports and ensure proper integration into CERN documentation systems.

- You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field and your highest educational qualification is either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. You must have a university degree and can’t hold a PhD.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
