What you'll do

Join the Deployment and Operations team in the Communication Systems and  Fabric Group and contribute to the reliable connectivity that supports one of the world’s leading scientific research environments. You will coordinate and follow up telecom and network infrastructure works across CERN sites, working with contractors, users and technical teams to plan installations, check quality, ensure safety and maintain accurate documentation. We welcome candidates with hands-on experience in cabling, telecom, electrical, industrial infrastructure or network installation environments who are motivated to develop in a unique international setting.

Your responsibilities

  • Review cabling requests and collaborate with requesters to clarify needs when necessary.
  • Help define suitable cable types and routes, working with users and taking into account the local environment.
  • Coordinate cabling and de-cabling activities with both internal teams and external partners (e.g. contractors).
  • Prepare clear and practical documentation to support the work (such as drawings and technical plans).

Your profile

  • Experience in telecom, network, electrical, industrial or technical infrastructure installation environments.
  • Ability to coordinate work on site with contractors, users, or technical teams.
  • Good understanding of safety, quality and documentation practices.

Employment conditions

  • Residence in the immediate vicinity of the Organization's installations.
  • Interventions in underground installations.
  • Work in Radiation Areas.
  • Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization
  • Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.

  • You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State. Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot and Croatian nationals, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
  • You have relevant qualifications and professional experience.
  • If you have previously held a Staff contract at CERN, you will not be eligible for these positions.
