What you'll do
In this role you will operate the CMS Global Pool of computing resources. You will learn to monitor, maintain, and evolve the submission infrastructure of the experiment.
Your responsibilities
- Monitor the HTCondor batch system used to realise the Global Pool.
- Adjust the pool paramaters to meet the experiments computing priorities/needs.
- Upgrade, configure, and troubleshoot components of the Global Pool.
- Communicate provisioning or scheduling issues and report the Global Pool status at coordination meetings.

Your profile
- Knowledge in Linux service administration and management.
- Knowledge of python and shell scripting.
- Experience with distributed computing or high-performance computing is a plus.
- Experience with batch systems and high throughput computing on Grid/Cloud is a plus.
- Experience with Puppet (or other configuration management) software is a plus.
- Experience with software development and code design is a plus.
- Your studies focused on Computer Science or Engineering.
Your skills
- Ability to strive in a multi-cultural environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.

- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field and your highest educational qualification is either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. You must have a university degree and can’t hold a PhD.
