What you'll do

Are you an experienced internal auditor with a strong background in internal or external auditing looking to take the next step in your career? Join CERN’s Internal Audit Service and help enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based, objective assurance and insightful advice that supports CERN in achieving its mission.


Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the annual internal audit plan through risk assessments, and independently perform audits in line with the approved plan.
  • Provide expert advice on governance, risk management, internal controls, and process improvements, including support to Departments/Services upon request.
  • Produce clear and insightful audit reports, formulate recommendations, facilitate Management’s agreement on proposed actions, and follow up on their implementation.
  • Act as a liaison for the Organization’s External Auditors.

Your profile

  • Demonstrated experience in financial, compliance or performance auditing, using a professional audit methodology.
  • Good business acumen demonstrated in an international environment.
  • Data analytics and related tools would be an asset.
  • Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Auditing, Accounting, Finance or Economics or a related field.

  • Assessment of internal control, risk management and governance processes.
  • Risks assessment for auditing purposes.
  • Performance auditing: as well as financial auditing.
  • Compliance auditing, certification of financial statements.
