What you'll do
You will ensure the availability and reliability of CERN’s cryogenic installations by providing daily technical support, maintaining industrial instrumentation systems and diagnosing complex electrical faults. You will also contribute to the design and optimisation of low-voltage electrical cabinets and components, in compliance with electrical safety standards.
Your responsibilities
- Contribute to the technical design and development of electrical cabinets for cryogenic systems, including the calculation to dimension the electrical systems, producing detailed electrical drawings, selecting components and ensuring compliance with electrical safety requirements.
- Participate in and supervise the fabrication, installation and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems for cryogenic installations, including related procurement activities such as evaluating cost estimates and ordering component.
- Provide daily operational support for cryogenic installations and contribute to the stand-by duty service to resolve urgent issues (including fault-finding, implementation of fixes, and reporting to the operation team).
- Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for system components, setting maintenance priorities and keep the corresponding technical documentation and procedures up to date.
- Select and implement industrial instrumentation systems and carry out equipment testing and calibration according to operational requirements.
