What you'll do

As Business Continuity Lead, you will play a central role in strengthening CERN’s organisational resilience by leading and coordinating business continuity activities across the Organization.


Working in the Improvement, Continuity and Sustainability (OSI-ICS) Group within the Organisational Support and Improvement (OSI) Department, you will contribute to the consolidation of CERN’s approach to risk management, crisis preparedness and business continuity within an integrated governance framework.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain CERN’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework, in alignment with CERN policies, international standards and good practice.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the identification and analysis of critical activities, dependencies, vulnerabilities and recovery requirements together with process and service owners.
  • Coordinate and support the development of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and disaster recovery arrangements across departments and functions.
  • Contribute to the integration of business continuity management with CERN's enterprise risk management and crisis management activities.

Your profile

  • Demonstrated experience in business continuity management, organisational resilience or risk management in a complex organisation.
  • Experience in conducting business impact analyses and developing continuity and recovery strategies.
  • Proven ability to work transversally across organisational boundaries and engage with diverse stakeholders to lead positive change outcomes.
  • Experience in designing and facilitating exercises, workshops or training activities is desirable.

  • You have relevant qualifications and professional experience.
  • If you have previously held a Staff contract at CERN, you will not be eligible for these positions.
