What you'll do
Join the Geodetic Metrology group at CERN, where you will contribute to the high-precision metrology and alignment of critical accelerator components for the High-Luminosity LHC project. You will work with state-of-the-art surveying instruments, sensor networks, and alignment software to achieve sub-millimetre and micrometre-level accuracy in a challenging underground environment. Your main focus will be the support of the preparation, installation, and commissioning of the Full Remote Adjustment System (FRAS), including micrometric sensor deployment and commissioning.
Your responsibilities
- Prepare the deployment of FRAS system components (testing alignment equipment, sensors, and associated software, etc.).
- Install and commission the FRAS systems in the LHC tunnel.
- Perform high-precision metrology and alignment measurements of components to be installed as part of the HL-LHC project.
