What you'll do
We are seeking a Publishing Production Officer with a background in scholarly publishing to work on the Open Research Europe (ORE) platform, soon to be hosted at CERN. As part of a growing team, you will support the Production Manager in the management of the entire article production workflow, from pre-publication checks through final publication.
Your responsibilities
- Contribute to the coordination of the full production workflow from pre-publication to final version.
- Collaborate with Production Manager and Editorial Coordinator to ensure smooth editorial-to-production transition.
- Communicate with external providers.
- Contribute to the management of the article schedules, manuscript tracking (OJS), and author communications.
- Maintain documentation, identify bottlenecks and suggest process improvements.

Your profile
- Experience in scholarly publishing or scholarly communication in general, with a focus on production, operational workflows, or editorial operations.
- Hands-on experience with Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, including workflow configuration and management, is an advantage.
- Experience with Publish-Review-Curate models is an advantage.
- Your studies focused on Publishing or a related field.

- You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State. Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field and your highest educational qualification is either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. You must have a university degree and can’t hold a PhD.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
