What you'll do

In this role, you will contribute to the operation of CERN’s unique cryogenic installations that enable the Large Hadron Collider and its particle detectors to operate. You will monitor and support the operation and maintenance of large-scale cryogenic systems as part of an international technical team. This is an opportunity to work with advanced industrial equipment and technologies in a highly specialised environment.

Your responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor cryogenic installations used to cool accelerator systems and detectors during operation periods.
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities on cryogenic installations outside operation periods.
  • Participate in a 24/7 shift team supervising process parameters and identifying operational anomalies.
  • Carry out first-line troubleshooting and technical interventions on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, on-site and remotely.

Your profile

  • Initial experience in operation/commissioning/maintenance of industrial electromechanical or process installations.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment involving process fluids, electricity, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Knowledge of cryogenic systems, instrumentation, or vacuum technology would be an asset.
  • Ability to work in an operational environment requiring careful application of safety procedures.
