What you'll do

You will be part of the Experimental Physics (EP) Department which carries out research in the field of experimental particle physics. This Department aims to provide a stimulating scientific atmosphere and remains an important reference centre for the European physics community. It contributes to the education and training of young scientists.

Your responsibilities

Take a leading role in all aspects of particle physics experiments, including the conception and design of experiments, the building and operation of detectors and the analysis of data.
Coordinate or make important contributions to studies, projects or committee work.
Represent the Organization at conferences, workshops, or in other research laboratories and institutions.
Supervise research and development work, and planning and managing activities including material and personnel resources.

Your profile

You have an established record of post-doctoral experience and have completed high-impact work in experimental particle physics research.
Experience in data analysis and in the use of on-line / off-line software
Demonstrated competence in detector hardware and experimental instrumentation.
Capacity for innovation and potential for making a significant contribution to the scientific programme of the Organization.
PhD in the field of particle physics or a related field.

A minimum entry-salary of 9236 Swiss Francs per month (tax free), increasing in line with your years of relevant experience.
