What you'll do
Are you interested in contributing to the next generation of superconducting technologies? As a Designer of High-Temperature Superconducting (HTS) systems, you will contribute to the development of REBCO superconducting cables and magnets for advanced accelerator and energy applications. You will work on the design and realisation of HTS components and prototypes, following them from concept through manufacturing and assembly within CERN’s HTS R&D programmes.
Your responsibilities
- Design mechanical components and systems for HTS cables and magnets, from conceptual studies to detailed manufacturing drawings using CATIA V5.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design reports, technical specifications, and calculation notes.
- Verify manufacturing drawings for compliance with design standards and quality assurance requirements.
- Follow up the manufacturing of mechanical parts, liaising with workshops and suppliers.
- Participate in the assembly of HTS prototypes and contribute to their mechanical integration.
