What you'll do
We are seeking an experienced Outreach and Communication Manager with a strong background in science communication and scholarly publishing work on Open Research Europe (ORE) platform, soon to be hosted at CERN. As part of a growing team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive outreach, communication, and marketing strategies that promote the platform and engage with the scientific community.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and implement outreach, communication, and marketing strategies aligned with ORE’s mission, in coordination with ORE’s partners and funders.
- Promote platform awareness among researchers, institutions, funders, and libraries.
- Create messaging frameworks and materials for diverse stakeholders.
- Monitor and adjust communication strategies to ensure effectiveness.
- Build and maintain relationships with partners and project stakeholders.
- Represent ORE at conferences, workshops, and community events.
- Coordinate with external vendors for marketing and content development.
- Oversee creation of promotional materials and ensure brand consistency.
- Manage vendor timelines, deliverables, and quality standards.
- Manage ORE’s social media channels and digital presence.
- Develop content calendars and oversee daily operations.
- Engage with the research community and monitor relevant trends.
- Track and report on social media metrics and engagement.

Your profile
- Demonstrated experience in: science communication, scholarly publishing outreach, open science initiatives, open access advocacy, or research communication.
- Experience managing social media channels for scientific or academic organisations.
- Experience coordinating with external vendors or agencies for marketing and communications.
- Strong network within open science, scholarly publishing, or research communities preferred.
- Deep understanding of the open access publishing and open science landscape
- Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field Science Communication, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
