What you'll do

Join CERN’s Electronics Service (EPR) team within the BE-CEM group, responsible for the layout, industrialisation, and production of electronics modules for CERN’s accelerator complex. You will contribute to the assembly and testing of printed circuit boards (PCB), gaining hands-on experience with state-of-the-art industrial equipment and quality standards.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform PCB assembly and soldering of Surface Mount Devices (SMD) and connectors.
  • Operate and maintain industrial assembly equipment under supervision.
  • Interpret and apply assembly documentation such as bills of materials, pick-and-place files, and assembly drawings.
  • Participate in quality inspections and ensure compliance with CERN's acceptance criteria.

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

  • You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree. You can’t hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Please pay attention to the additional criteria and requirements for this specific position and mentioned above.
