What you'll do
You will join the Electrical Engineering Group (EN-EL), responsible for CERN’s electrical power-distribution network (from 400 kV to 400/230 V), fibre-optics infrastructure, and signal and DC-power cabling for the accelerator complex. As a Junior Asset Manager within the Maintenance and Operation section, you will manage the representation of CERN’s electrical network assets and associated inventory in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). You will define and implement asset hierarchies, failure codes and maintenance workflows, ensuring data quality and operational usability. Your responsibilities will cover both installed equipment across CERN’s electrical infrastructure and spare parts stored in warehouses.
Your responsibilities
- Support the Asset Management Lead in the establishment and implementation of an asset management policy and strategy for the electrical group.
- Design a hierarchical structure and data model for asset representation in the CMMS.
- Lead site surveys to gather asset data and apply AI tools for processing where applicable.
- Enter and configure asset data in the CMMS, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
- Ensure CMMS data quality through audits, validation routines, and continuous improvement.
- Manage failure codes to support fault analysis and optimize maintenance processes.
- Support maintenance managers in defining preventive tasks, schedules, and required resources (e.g., labour, tools, spare parts).
- Provide training, documentation, and technical support to users on asset and maintenance data.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on CMMS asset configurations and hierarchies.
- Develop dashboards and reports on asset status, maintenance history, and KPIs (e.g., MTBF).
