What you'll do

You will join the Beam Instrumentation (BI) Group at CERN, contributing to the study and development of next-generation beam profile monitors for the North Area Consolidation Programme. As part of a diverse, multicultural team working at the forefront of scientific research, you will take part in precision electro-mechanical assembly, testing and installation of advanced instrumentation systems. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while contributing directly to the performance of CERN’s accelerator complex.

Your responsibilities

  • Work on the study and development of the next generation of beam profile monitors for the North Area Consolidation Programme.
  • Participate in precision electro-mechanics assembly, testing and installation.
  • Contribute as part of a multicultural and diverse team within the Beam Instrumentation group (BI).
  • Work in a stimulating environment at the forefront of scientific research.

Your profile

  • Your studies focused on Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in mechanical design and mechanical drawings, assembly of mechanical components.

Your skills

  • The knowledge of the beam instruments field would be an advantage.
  • Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

  • You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree. You can’t hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Please pay attention to the additional criteria and requirements for this specific position and mentioned above.
