CERN's ambitious scientific endeavour cannot be undertaken without tight safety and radiation protection measures. Join the team of specialist professionals dedicated to radiation protection, and make your mark in ensuring that the environment in which CERN achieves its results is safe and compliant with the latest radiological regulations and standards  both very safe, and without any harm from ionizing radiation. Take Part!

There are opportunities for engineers, physicists, technical engineers and technicians to join the Radiation Protection Group (DGS-RP) of the HSE Unit, which ensures the application of the state of the art practices and measurement techniques to assess the hazards relating to risks of exposure to ionizing radiation and ensures that exposure is kept as low as possible. The DGS-RP group fulfills its mandate in collaboration with the CERN departments owning or operating particle accelerators and experimental installations, which are sources of ionising radiation. Duties of the radiation protection group also include radiation protection studies for new experiments and future projects, operational radiation protection for existing installations, monitoring of the occupational exposure of personnel and the management of radioactive sources and radioactive waste.
